We Cry Out, He Answers

My self-sufficiency dies hard. I’m still learning that when
I cry out to the Lord, He is faithful to answer.

For the last 6 months, I have headed Desert Stream Care. I
have witnessed His unfailing response to your cries for care. We seek Him in
the confusion and division of our broken lives or those of our loved ones. He
answers because His is the Kingdom of the poor. We receive Heaven in our
distress.
I experienced this truth profoundly as a 21-year-old. Confronted
with the emptiness of my same-sex pursuits, magnified by an HIV-diagnosis, and desperate
for help, I discovered this Heavenly Father who ran after me in my despair. His
love enabled me to acknowledge my great need for Him. He waited for my call. He
answered! And over time, He has helped me to become helpful to others in their
distress.
That’s why I love DSM Care! It is a new sound bridge on
which His beloved sons and daughters encounter the God who saves.
I think of Jonathan, a midwestern man, who had been silenced
by the judgement of his fellow church members. He found his way to
CrossCurrent Online and has rediscovered Hope Himself! No longer isolated in shame, Jonathan
is now alive with new authority, dignity, and purpose. Jonathan deepens in
Divine Mercy and loves releasing that mercy to others.
I’m encouraged by John & Mary, whose daughter began to
destroy her beautiful body. Tempted to accommodate their daughter’s deception as
to salvage relationship with her, they now contend for her original beauty! Through
Oasis Online, John and Mary have been strengthened in Hope: He will clear a
path for both daughter and parents.
God has gathered a humble, mighty team of leaders from across
the country to lead these initiatives. He answered their cries to serve fellow
strugglers. Now Jesus is reactivating their witness and gifts; new life flows
out of their ‘yes’ to release captives. The Lord hears our cries for help!

a spacious place. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.” Psalms 118:5, 6a
